MY ROLE: Creative Direction, Apparel Design, Art Direction, Apparel Graphic Design

PROJECT CHALLENGE: Create a micro collection (warm up jacket and pant) for the winners of the NBA Championship to wear at their Championship banner raising ceremony and Championship Ring presentation. The goal was draft off the success of the prior years “Banner Jacket” SMU created for the Boston Celtics and LA Lakers. Those teams had multiple banners to replicate as the main back side graphic. The challenge was how do create a concept version of this for teams with only a few championships. The items should uniquely commemorate the teams achievement, be of a quality that appropriately reflects the achievement, but also not exceed a retail price threshold. The collection also needed to drive brand visibility for Adidas, and create a language for additional chase merchandise extensions.

SOLUTION: The “TRB (Trophy, Ring, Banner) Collection” incorperates graphics and details reflective of each teams unique Championship banner design, the O’Brian trophy, team colors & marks, as well as Adidas stripe branding. All accented with O’Brian trophy gold, reflecting the pinnacle of the achievement and executed in premium fabrics and trims.

RESULTS: 10K+ finished units booked and shipped / additional chase product revenue realized (t-shirts and headwear) / establishment of an annual event opportunity
